Escambia Children's Trust allocates $3.6M annually to youth programs, including Century hub

The Escambia County Children's Trust board this week approved $3.6 million in yearly funding for community youth and family programs across the county, including more than $1 million over three years for a new learning and readiness hub in Century.

The Extra Mile Club Str8 Up will receive $349,650 annually—totaling $1,048,950 over three years—to operate the "Soul Train Little Learners & Family Readiness Hub" in Century. The hub is designed to serve early learners and families in the North Escambia area.

The broader funding package, approved this week, directs more than $3.6 million per year to various youth-focused initiatives across Escambia County. The Children's Trust, a county agency, oversees investments in early childhood development, after-school programs, family support services, and related community initiatives.
