EREC Outages Drop Below 700 in Escambia as Restoration Efforts Continue

Escambia River Electric Cooperative is making progress in restoring power across the region following widespread outages, with crews working around the clock to get customers back online.

As of late Sunday night, EREC reported 678 outages remaining in Escambia County, down from higher numbers earlier in the restoration effort. However, Santa Rosa County residents are facing a longer wait, with 9,444 outages still affecting customers there.

The cooperative said hundreds of lineworkers are continuing restoration efforts throughout the night. EREC also announced that its online outage map is back in service, allowing customers to track restoration progress in their areas. The map provides real-time updates on outage locations and estimated restoration times.
