Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An ECAT contract driver is on the unemployment line after taking a county-owned and marked transit vehicle to a local gentlemen's club. Channel 3 posted photos of the transit van in the parking lot at Club Eden on North Davis Highway on Saturday night. Photos also reportedly showed the driver -- still in ECAT uniform, inside the club and walking towards the transit van in the parking lot. ECAT says the driver was promptly terminated from any contract work he had with FlexTransit and that the drivers' actions do not align with the high standards of conduct expected from ECAT drivers.

This comes as area residents have expressed some frustration with difficulty in booking rides with the county's new FlexTransit system. ECAT says they are working to hire more drivers to keep up with demand for rides. FlexTransit offers mini-bus rides on demand through an app at a lower cost than a typical rideshare.
