DESTIN GETS 50K GRANT FOR SPEEDING ENFORCEMENT

Speed enforcement will be taken up a notch on Highway 98 going through Destin over the next few weeks. Captain Jason Fulghum with the Okaloosa Sheriff's Office says they've clocked speeders going 90 to 100 miles per hour along Highway 98, and that kind of speeding contributes to fatal crashes in the area. Destin was recently approved for a $50-thousand dollar federal grant to tackle the issue. They'll have extra Okaloosa County deputies out running speed enforcement operations.
