Ascension Sacred Heart is now confirming our reporting that the hospital has been affected by a data breach. In a statement provided to NewsRadio, Ascension says that some systems have been interrupted as unusual activity on "select technology network systems" was detected yesterday. The statement goes on to say that the appropriate authorities have been notified and they are working to fully investigate "what information, if any, may have been affected by the situation". As of now, there is no confirmation as to what information or individuals may have been impacted.
