Community Health Northwest Florida Palafox clinic reopens Thursday after Hurricane Isaias

Community Health Northwest Florida will reopen its North Palafox Street location tomorrow, Thursday, October 15, after power was restored to the facility. The clinic at 1400 N. Palafox Street will resume full services including adult and family care, walk-in appointments, pharmacy, lab work, and X-ray services.
The reopening is part of the organization's broader recovery following Hurricane Isaias, which made landfall on October 9. According to a statement from the health center, most of its 14 locations across Escambia and Santa Rosa counties have already resumed operations, with services expanding throughout the week. Reopened sites include the Jackson Street main clinic, the Milton location, and pediatric clinics at Trinity, Highway 90 in Pace, and Cantonment.
Three locations remain offline due to power outages: 12th Avenue Pediatrics and school-based clinics at Pine Forest High School and C.A. Weis Elementary. The organization said it's working to move patient appointments from closed sites to facilities that are operational. Escambia County schools remain closed through October 16.
"Our staff adapted above and beyond," said Community Health Northwest Florida CEO Chandra Smiley in the announcement. Patients needing to refill prescriptions or with other questions can call 850-436-4630, and the health center said it will continue posting updates on its website and social media accounts.
