Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92.3) -- Civil claims against former Escambia County Deputy Greg Nesmith have been dropped, though his criminal case remains pending. Nesmith faces two counts of vehicular homicide after fatally hitting two Alabama teenagers crossing Perdido Key Drive last July while off duty. His attorneys say conflicting details between two official crash reports may have influenced the felony charges against him, and they've requested a hearing to examine how the investigation was handled. Nesmith has pleaded not guilty and is due back in court February seventeenth.
