CENTURY EXPANDS DEAL WITH SOUTH FLORIDA CONSULTANT COMPANY

The Century town council is expanding the contract they have with a company in South Florida that runs many of the town's operations. The council approved an increase to 8-thousand dollars per month for town manager services and $3-thousand per month for grant writing services to the Local Government Consulting Group of West Palm Beach. They also approved a $40-per-hour cost for "Coordinator of Ongoing Projects Services." The town originally started doing business with the company after Mayor Luis Gomez Jr. was appointed to the job last fall, he proposed contracting out services because of his inexperience in the job. The town's contract with the company will run through December. They plan to pay for it using federal American Rescue Plan money.
