New census numbers are in, and it looks like Santa Rosa County is outpacing Escambia County when it comes to new residents moving in. Santa Rosa is now over the 200-thousand mark at 203,162. The population has grown by nearly 5-thousand which is above the normal annual growth rate by several hundred. Escambia County's population grew as well, with a reported increase of 3,068 residents per year. The total population of Escambia County is now 321,905. The City of Pensacola lost 156 people going from 54,316 to 53,724 residents.
