BROWNSVILLE NEIGHBORS FRUSTRATED AFTER CAMPER FIRE

Three people are homeless after an early morning fire in the Brownsville community. This morning, around 6:15 a.m., crews were called to West Fisher Street after flames engulfed a mobile home and camper. Escambia County Fire Rescue says an unattended candle sparked the fire. The damage was enough to displace three people. No one was hurt. American Red Cross is now helping the residents. Neighbors say the property has been a nuisance in the area, and have reported issues to the sheriff's office and code enforcement, but nothing has changed. Escambia County officials say they haven't responded to any recent calls for criminal activity at the address.
