(Cape Canaveral, FL) -- It turns out Blue Origin's recent rocket launch was not as successful as previously thought. The company's New Glenn rocket launched Sunday carrying a communications satellite for AST SpaceMobile, but the FAA says the satellite failed to reach the proper orbit. AST SpaceMobile says the satellite will re-enter Earth's atmosphere and burn up. The FAA has grounded the New Glenn rocket while it investigates. Blue Origin CEO Dave Limp says one of the rocket's engines didn't produce sufficient thrust to reach the target orbit. He writes on X he's working with the FAA to learn from the data and implement the improvements needed to quickly return to flight operations.
