Alligator Alcatraz Remains Open

(Ochopee, FL) -- Reports that Alligator Alcatraz will shut down may have been premature. The immigrant detention facility in the Everglades is still open, and a state official says he has not been told to shut it down. Florida Emergency Management Director Kevin Guthrie even says he has been told to expect more detainees. That's not welcome news to those who were outside the facility protesting yesterday. One woman tells Local 10 News when the day finally comes when the facility closes it'll be one of the biggest human rights victories.
