Gulf Shores, AL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Gulf Shores police have arrested a 29-year-old postal delivery driver accused of stealing mail from more than 70 homes in Baldwin County. Investigators recovered over 1,000 pieces of mail-including checks and legal documents-from his car and home. The theft is the largest case Gulf Shores Police have seen. Bryant Nugent faces two felony charges under Alabama's new mail theft law that took effect in October. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Foley Police assisted in the investigation. Residents are being urged to monitor their mailboxes, and the USPS offers a free daily mail preview service to help prevent future theft.
