Alabama Man Arrested After Chase on Highway 29

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- An Alabama man was arrested after leading Escambia County deputies and an FHP trooper on a chase along Highway 29 on Saturday. FHP says a trooper saw the deputies and fleeing suspect and joined in on the pursuit -- eventually taking the lead and stopping the vehicle with a PIT manouver. After the PIT police say the vehicle rolled twice and came to rest on its roof. 34-year-old Derek Michael Coleman was taken to Baptist Hospital with minor injuries after the crash and now faces charges for felony fleeing and eluding, possession of a firearm by a felon, and DUI.
