117-Acre Wildfire Burns at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores

A wildfire at Gulf State Park in Gulf Shores has grown to at least 117 acres, according to Alabama Forestry. The fire started when a tree fell on a power line near the back entrance of Waterville USA and quickly spread into 2 separate fires. Helicopters have been dropping water on the blaze. Several roads and businesses in the area have been affected. Residents and visitors are urged to avoid the area.
