PENSACOLA, FL — The Florida Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) has been named Outstanding Research Organization at the 2025 Humanoid Robotics Industry Awards for its innovative work on the Nadia humanoid robotics platform. Nadia is named after famed gymnast Nadia Comaneci, and has been celebrated for its unique design features, including a large range of motion and a high power-to-weight ratio. The Nadia platform is transitioning to a new generation robot named Alex, which aims to enhance mobility in complex environments and support operations in high-risk scenarios, backed by funding from the U.S. Office of Naval Research.

Escambia County, FL (Newsradioa 92.3) -- The SEC women's soccer tournament at Ashton Brosnaham Park continues today -- the latest action on Tuesday saw Vanderbilt edge out Alabama 2-1, while Mississippi State triumphed over Arkansas with a 2-1 victory. Georgia and Kentucky played to a 1-1 draw, and LSU secured a 2-0 win against Tennessee. Looking ahead, the semifinals will take place tomorrow and will feature Vanderbilt vs. Georgia and Mississippi State vs. LSU. The championship match is set for Sunay, November 9, with a free fan fest starting at 11:30 that morning. The match itself will begin at 2:30 pm.

Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A man with a Gunshot wound was found in the Whataburger parking lot on Pensacola Boulevard and Boone Street last night. Deputies say the victim was taken to a local hospital. There's no word on his current condition. Investigators say there is no suspect information at this time. The incident is still under investigation.
