Matchbox Twenty announces Orange Beach stop on 30th Anniversary Tour

Rock band Matchbox Twenty is bringing their 30th Anniversary Tour to the Gulf Coast next summer. According to a Live Nation announcement, the group will perform at The Wharf Amphitheater in Orange Beach on August 5, 2027.

The tour marks a milestone year for the rock band, which formed in the mid-1990s and has built a devoted fanbase through hits like "3AM" and "Bent." Specific ticket information and on-sale dates have not yet been announced.

The Wharf Amphitheater is Orange Beach's premier outdoor music venue and regularly hosts major touring acts. More details about the concert are expected to be released by Live Nation in the coming weeks.

BRACE Seeks Donations for Long-Term Isaias Recovery in Escambia, Santa Rosa

PENSACOLA, Fla. — As Northwest Florida moves from emergency response into longer-term Hurricane Isaias recovery, BRACE is asking residents and businesses to help support recovery efforts in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies serves as the lead local agency for Emergency Support Function 15, which coordinates volunteers and donations following disasters.

The organization also serves as a fiscal agent for disaster-recovery efforts in the two counties and leads their Long-Term Recovery Groups.

Those groups bring together nonprofit organizations, churches, businesses, government agencies and other community partners to address needs that can remain long after the immediate emergency ends.

“Disaster recovery does not end when the storm passes,” BRACE CEO Dr. Nick Jackson said. “Families may continue dealing with damaged homes, debris, lost belongings and other needs long after the immediate emergency is over.”

BRACE says financial contributions are particularly useful because recovery needs can change over time and funding can be directed toward identified gaps not covered by other resources.

BRACE will continue coordinating with emergency managers in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties as recovery needs are identified.

Santa Rosa Expands Hurricane Supply Distribution; Six PODs Operating

SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. — Santa Rosa County has expanded its Hurricane Isaias supply distribution operation, with six Points of Distribution now serving residents from Navarre to Jay.

The newest locations are Navarre High School and Tiger Point Community Center in Gulf Breeze.

Both are scheduled to operate from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily until further notice, providing water, ice and tarps.

Four additional PODs are operating at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in East Milton, Bray-Hendricks Park in Jay, King Middle School in Milton and Munson Air Strip.

The northern sites are distributing MREs, water, ice and tarps.

Additional feeding operations are also underway through the Red Cross, Salvation Army and other disaster-relief organizations.

Residents needing physical help cleaning up storm damage can also contact Crisis Cleanup at 800-451-1954.

Volunteer organizations may be able to assist with roof tarping, fallen-tree removal, debris cleanup and other storm-related needs. Assistance depends on volunteer availability.
