(Palm Beach, FL) -- Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says he will head to Florida to meet with President Trump this weekend. The Ukrainian leader said the meeting to discuss efforts to end the nearly four-year war with Russia will take place Sunday. He told reporters the U.S. and Ukraine will look to "finalize as much as we can." Zelensky added that a 20-point peace plan is "90-percent ready." In an earlier statement on social media, Zelensky said "a lot can be decided before the New Year."

Gulf Breeze, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A thirty-four-year-old Mexican national was sentenced to ten months in federal prison for illegally possessing a firearm in Gulf Breeze. Teodoro Rodriguez-Alvarez pleaded guilty to the gun charge. In July, police found Rodriguez-Alvarez passed out in a pickup truck on the Pensacola Bay Bridge. He was arrested for DUI and illegal gun possession. A pistol was discovered in a bag near the driver's seat. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations handled the case with assistance from the Gulf Breeze Police Department.

Florida motorists will get a break from road construction for Christmas and New Year's. FDOT confirmed there will be no lane closures or other activities that impede traffic on state roads throughout the Florida panhandle beginning tonight and ending on Friday, January 2.
