HIGHWAY 29 WORK IN CENTURY HITS SNAG — David Wayne
Work came to a halt on Highway 29 in Century this week after an unknown water main was found — and officials say it will have to be relocated. The work began earlier this year, two northbound travel lanes and a center turn lane were being shifted into two lanes –traffic had been expected to go back to normal by the end of the month…but that’s now on hold until workers can relocate the previously unknown water main. Officials say a contractor is scheduled to be on site by next week to begin the process. Road work will resume as soon as the water main is relocated.
