Preliminary plans to bring the first business and 90 new jobs to the I-10 industrial park off SR-87 in Santa Rosa Acounty are up for consent agenda approval at Thursday’s regular Commission meeting.  County Documents say Lovell Government Services wants to purchase eight acres in the park and build a 100,000 square foot facility to eventually create 90 jobs paying at least 50% above the County’s current average wage.

Currently based in Pensacola on Gregory Street, Lovell’s website describes their company as being “founded by Chris Lovell, Major USMC Retired, in 2013 out of a desire to continue to serve by providing specialty Medical and Surgical Resources to the Veterans Administration Hospital System and the U.S. Military Medical Networks. Having served for over 24 years, Chris also wanted to ensure America’s Warfighters had access to the most advanced lifesaving resources available on and off the battlefield. Chris assists companies interested in Marketing their products to the Federal Government with certification, marketing, and contracting expertise.  Lovell Government Services LLC’s primary mission is to provide exclusive medical, surgical, and pharmaceutical resources to the U.S. Department of Defense and Veterans Affairs Medical Organizations. We work with medical product developers to certify and market the latest in life saving technologies to the Federal Government.”

Project Lionheart is dependent upon a Triumph pre-application which Thursday’s vote will authorize staff to commence.  The funding includes $3.6 million from Triumph to pay for stormwater improvements and construction of an access road (in blue on the map) to the parcel (in yellow) plus local match funding of $162,000 in waived fees by the County and $72,000 in outlays under the Qualified Target Industry (QTI) Tax Refund program.  This program allows municipalities to draw down State funds for specified industries at the rate of $4,000 per job ($360,000 total) over  6-8 years by matching the State funds with 20% (72,000) locally.
