TWO ARRESTED FOR GUNS, AND DRUGS AFTER TRAFFIC STOP — Steve Taylor
Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — A 16-year-old was arrested in Escambia County after running from a traffic stop with drugs and a gun. Antonio Cummings Jr. of Pensacola is charged with resisting arrest, as well as other firearm and drug charges. Deputies tried to stop a vehicle on Michigan Avenue Wednesday evening, after it made an improper lane change and nearly struck another vehicle, then pulled into a Circle K. Cummings Jr. was a passenger, and allegedly ran, then tried to jump a fence. A deputy tasered, then handcuffed him. Deputies searched him and found $1,245 in cash, two iPhones, a gun with 18 rounds, and two bags of marijuana totaling 40 grams, according to the report. But the vehicle that he ran from left Circle K before deputies could make contact with the driver. Deputies then went to the address of the owner, Dwayne Cummings Sr., and arrested him for leaving the scene. Cummings Jr. was taken to the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, while Cummings Sr. was booked into Escambia County Jail on a $5,000 bond before being released.
