SPANEVELO FACING FEDERAL KIDNAPPING INDICTMENT
The ex-boyfriend of Cassie Carli has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of kidnapping in connection to her death. The indictment against 35 year-old Marcus Spanevelo was announced Wednesday by U.S. Attorney Prim Escalona, and the punishment range for the federal charge is either life in prison or death. Carli disappeared on March 27 last year after meeting Spanevelo in a parking lot in Navarre to do a custody exchange for their daughter. The Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office was notified of her disappearance a day later. On April 3, Carli’s body was found in a shallow grave in Springville, AL.
