SANTA ROSA DEPUTIES RESPOND TO HOSTAGE CALL AT DOLLAR TREE — David Wayne
Gulf Breeze, FL (Newsradio 92.3) — Santa Rosa County deputies responded to a reported possible hostage situation at the Dollar Tree store in Gulf Breeze on Monday afternoon, but they say there was no emergency. The entire incident was a misunderstanding when an employee having a personal emergency asked store patrons to leave and locked the doors. Deputies say they couldn’t contact the store employee by phone, so they entered the building and cleared the area, but didn’t find anyone inside. Deputies say the report of the employee being held hostage was a misunderstanding between the patrons and the store employee.
