SANTA ROSA COUNTY MOVING FORWARD WITH FULL BEACH RENOURISHMENT
Santa Rosa County leaders are moving forward with plans for a full renourishment of Navarre Beach. During their meeting today, the Commissioners unanimously approved the full renourishment of 4.1 miles of Navarre Beach at a cost of $17.8 million. FEMA will cover nearly $4 million of the cost, while the county and Florida Department of Environmental Protection would cover the rest. The county’s portion will be paid for by tourists through bed tax collections. Work is expected to start in September.
