REPAIR WORK CONTINUES AT PENSACOLA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT — Steve Taylor

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — Workers are continuing work to repair the runway lights that quit working after an underground electrical fire at Pensacola International Airport earlier this week. As of this morning, crews have assessed the wiring for the north-south runway, which is currently closed for construction, and determined that the north-south runway lights are functional. As repairs continue to the east-west runway, the airport is preparing to shift its nighttime operations to the north-south runway while continuing daytime operations on the east-west runway. Workers were forced to pause their repair efforts yesterday when strong storms passed through and there was a risk of lightning.
