Pensacola Native Convicted of Killing Wife in Kansas

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pensacola native has been convicted of killing his wife while they were living in Kansas back in 2021. 26-year-old Cameron Lawson was found guilty of first-degree premeditated murder in Gear County, Kansas last week. Prosecutors say he killed his wife Enfinnitiy Hayes to claim life insurance money. He's due for sentencing in December and could face 50 years to life in prison. Both Lawson and Hayes are from Pensacola and graduated from Escambia High School. Lawson was on active duty in the Army and stationed at Fort Riley at the time. Lawson and Hayes had their first child just three weeks before the woman was murdered. A second suspect was also arrested as the shooter -- prosecutors said he and Lawson worked together to set up the crime. That man took a plea deal and is currently in a Kansas prison.
