PENSACOLA BROTHERS ARRESTED FOR BEATING TRANSIENT MAN

Two brothers were arrested early this morning for allegedly beating a transient man in Pensacola. 24 year old Dylan Smith-Rohde is charged with aggravated assault with a weapon and aggravated battery, while 24 year old Zachary Smith-Rohde is charged with aggravated battery and resisting arrest. The incident happened around 2:45 am on Cervantes Street near 8th Avenue. According to police, a 45-year-old transient man sat behind a small plaza at 707 E. Cervantes Street to charge his cell phone. The Smith-Rohde's live at 721 N 8th Ave, which is an abutting property. Police say Dylan Smith-Rohde allegedly told the man to leave while pointing a gun at him. The transient argued that he regularly charges his phone there. Police say Dylan Smith-Rohde went inside his home to get his brother, then re-approached the man and hit him multiple times with their fists and a bamboo stick. Both brothers were arrested, while the man was treated for minor injuries. Both men are being held in Escambia County Jail without bond.
