Pace Man Faces Several Charges Related After Setting Fire to Home, Escaping from Deputies at Hospital

Penacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A Pace man is facing a laundry-list of charges after allegedly trying to break into a woman's home and setting it on fire. 27-year-old Anthony Krevatas was arrested by Santa Rosa County deputies on Saturday. According to a report, Krevatas was at a woman's home and trying to break in by taking screws out of a board covering a window.... but when he couldn't get in, he allegedly set the board on fire. The man then reportedly stole an electric bike and said he was coming back with a shotgun. Deputies arrested him before he could return to the home -- but the story doesn't end there. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of an earlier injury. As he was being treated, he jumped out of a CT scanner and took off running, crashing through a glass door and ran into the woodline. Deputies later found him hiding in a retention pond. Krevatas is now being held in the Santa Rosa County jail with no bond on multiple charges.
