OLF-8 DISCUSSIONS CONTINUE AT COUNTY BOARD MEETING

Escambia County commissioners discussed the OLF 8 property and the recent $36-million dollar offer from Alabama's Tri-W Development to purchase and develop the entire property last night. While the county board seemed to prefer their plan of keeping 250 acres for job creation, they did tell county staff to have preliminary discussions regarding the offer. They also heard from developer Fred Hemmer whose group Beulah Town Center has been back-and-forth for nearly a year trying to work out a deal. Commissioners also heard from several Beulah citizens who encouraged them to ensure whatever developer gets the project sticks to the master plan.
