MAN FACING MURDER CHARGE FOR DECEMBER SHOOTING

A 23-year-old Pensacola man is charged with murder after allegedly killing a man he met on an LGBTQ+ dating website last December. Escambia County deputies say Delarius Riley Jr. is charged with second-degree murder and discharging a firearm in public. The fatal shooting happened on December 7th of last year at the Red Roof Inn on Plantation Road, when a man was shot and killed at the hotel. A man was seen running from the hotel after the shooting. Investigators say Riley was communicating with the victim prior to that incident -- and they believe Riley may have been communicating with other men on the website as well. Riley is currently in jail in Santa Rosa County on a probation violation charge. Escambia County has placed a hold on him for extradition.
