LEGISLATION TO BE FILED TO GET PERDIDO INCORPORATION ON BALLOT

Residents of Perdido Key will most likely get the chance to vote on whether the community will incorporate into its own town next year. Both sides of the issue had a chance to plead their case at last night's Escambia County Legislative Delegation meeting. We Are Perdido's Steve Brendtro says his group has taken all the steps to make sure the proposition is viable, including hiring a consultant to provide budget projections. Ultimately the delegation approved submitting legislation that would get the item on a ballot -- but it still has to go through the state legislature.
