Grand Jury: DeSantis Administration Misappropriated $10 Million

State Representative Alex Andrade of Pensacola first raised the alarm — and a grand jury is backing him up. The panel says 10 million dollars from a Medicaid settlement was misappropriated into the Hope Florida Foundation in 2025, then moved within days to the Republican Party and two political action committees. The target: defeating a ballot measure to legalize recreational marijuana. One of those PACs was chaired by James Uthmeier — then the governor's general counsel, now Florida's attorney general.
