Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- A free, student-run mental health clinic called Pensacola Mental Health Services (PMHS) is opening soon in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. The clinic connects University of West Florida master's students with patients in need, and will provide free care for the community while students gain clinical experience. Founder Dr. Kimbery Giryluk says the clinic has already filled its first two weeks of appointments -- reflecting high demand for services in an area where nearly 5,000 mental health calls were reported in 2023. PMHS can address issues like depression and anxiety. PMHS will serve clients ages five and up. They will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
