Florida's 'Alligator Alcatraz' to be a Model for State Run Immigrant Detention Centers

Miami, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- Florida's "Alligator Alcatraz" is being hailed as a model for state-run immigrant detention facilities. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem told CBS the department is hoping to create other similar sites with considerations in Arizona, Nebraska and Louisiana. According to Noem, the department is looking at locations near airports to boost efficiency. Alligator Alcatraz was quickly constructed near the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport in the Everglades, and it has come under fire for poor conditions.
