(061625) Traffic congestion in Downtown Pensacola could become a logistical nightmare. A stretch of West Main Street between A and E streets will be closed beginning July 7 for approximately two months. Construction of a new drainage system will reduce flooding for more than 1,600 properties, including the Tanyard, the Westside Garden District, and as far north as Morris Court. Mayor D C Reeves says the area is one of the worst when it comes to flooding during heavy rain events.
