Escambia County, FL (Newsradio 92.3) -- It was a busy Monday at Mahogany Mills Boat Ramp with two separate incidents. Pensacola Police searched the area for missing 37-year-old Robin Whitmire with help from a specially trained otter named Splash. The Asian small-clawed otter is trained for underwater human remains detection and works with Peace River Search and Rescue. A K-9 alerted in the area but not strong enough to deploy Splash. Whitmire was later found safe with no foul play involved. Also Monday morning, the Escambia County Sheriff's Office Dive Team removed what turned out to be an inert training munition from the water near the same boat ramp after reports of a possible torpedo.
