ONE PERSON FREED FROM TRUCK AFTER CRASH AT UWF — Steve Taylor

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — One person was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle crash at the University of West Florida early this morning. The accident happened around 2:50 am on Campus Drive and Davis Highway near the UWF Track and Baseball Fields. According to Escambia County Fire Rescue, a pick-up truck collided with multiple trees and the driver was extricated from the vehicle. Firefighters say they had to remove the roof of the vehicle to gain access to the driver. Hydraulic cutters, spreaders, and rams were also used to free the driver’s legs. The driver was taken to a local hospital and their condition is unknown at this time. UWF Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
