NAS PENSACOLA SCHEDULES PUBLIC ACCESS WEEKENDS IN MAY — Steve Taylor
Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola scheduled two more weekends of public access on the weekends of May 4 through May 7, as well as May 11 through May 14 from 9 am through 3 pm. Access will be through the West Gate only, located at the south end of Blue Angel Parkway. Popular areas at NAS Pensacola include the Pensacola Lighthouse and Maritime Museum, the National Naval Aviation Museum, and Fort Barrancas. Because NAS Pensacola is an active military installation, all U.S. citizens or U.S. nationals 18 and older visiting the air station must have a Real ID or passport. Foreign nationals will not be allowed access. Non-DoD identification card holders operating vehicles with trailers will not be allowed access to the air station. The following restrictions will apply:
No weapons (firearms/knives) allowed (to include Concealed Weapon Permit holders)
No backpacks/coolers allowed (diaper bags or medically required bags are acceptable and subject to search).
No alcoholic beverages allowed
No drones allowed (countermeasures will be taken)
Persons with felony convictions are not authorized base access
No visitors with boats and boat trailers
All vehicles and personnel are subject to security searches and background checks.
