CENTURY SPECIAL ELECTION RESULTS — David Wayne
The election is over in Century — and the two interim town council members that began serving in January are now officially elected to their council seats. For Council Seat 3 Shelisa McCall won the election with 89 votes to challenger Evelyn Webber’s 44.
For Seat 4 Alicia Johnson defeated challenger Eddie Hammond with 89 votes to his 43.
Both McCall and Johnson had been appointed to the seats last January when nobody ran for them during the previous election. Johnson and McCall will be officially sworn in on April 7th but will remain in their seats as interim council members until then. Turnout for the election was just over 14 percent of registered voters in the town.
