MAN SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR STABBING THREE-YEAR-OLD SON — Steve Taylor
Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — A man who deputies say stabbed his 3-year-old son to death in Niceville in 2019 has been sentenced. 65-year-old Frederick Franken Sr. pleaded no contest on Wednesday to First Degree Premeditated Murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. The incident happened on March 15, 2019, at a home on Rawlins Court. According to the State Attorney’s Office, Franken sent his wife photos of their three-year-old son throughout the day, then: stabbed his son to death before stabbing himself. Franken was initially hospitalized in critical condition but survived his suicide attempt. He was then arrested on murder charges. The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigated the case.
