MAN FACES DUI CHARGE AFTER CRASHING INTO CONSTRUCTION SWEEPER — Steve Taylor
Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — A 21-year-old man is facing DUI charges after crashing into a road construction sweeper in Escambia County early this (Friday) morning. Joshua Saul Williams, of Pensacola, is charged with driving under the influence with damage to property. According to Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Highway 29 and Airport Boulevard around 1:30 am. Troopers say Williams crashed into a sweeper truck that was in the area for construction, and the truck overturned into the roadway. Williams’ vehicle was heavily damaged during the incident, and the windows were blown out of the construction sweeper. FHP says a 24-year-old man was injured during the incident and taken to the hospital. According to troopers, along with Williams’s DUI charge, he will also be charged with careless driving. Williams was taken to the Escambia County Jail and released on a $1,500 bond.
