UWF HOLDING GROUNDBREAKING FOR SPORTS MEDICINE CENTER — David Wayne
Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) — There’s a groundbreaking ceremony this afternoon at the Darrell Gooden Center on the UWF campus….
“The groundbreaking ceremony will be right outside the building, then there will be a reception on the first floor of the Darrell Gooden Center,” UWF Athletic Director Dave Scott tells Newsradio that anyone who attends can see plans for the new Sandy Sansing Sports Medicine Center.
“They can even take tours of the current facility, to include the sports performance area, football locker room, upstairs College of Health, and the Florida State College of Medicine, it’ll be a great day.”
It’s all part of UWF’s Founders Week where they celebrate the founding of the University. That will conclude with the ‘Day of Play’ on Saturday.
UWF Athletic Director Dave Scott says the new Sandy Sansing Sports Medicine Center will give student athletes a place to rehab from injuries, and give medical students a new place to work and train in their respective careers — while also opening up space on campus for athletic programs. The ceremony is scheduled for 4 o’clock this afternoon.
