FPL PLANS RATE CUT, PENDING STATE APPROVAL — Steve Taylor
Florida Power & Light announced plans this morning to lower rates pending state approval. Vice President and General Manager J.T. Young says the rate cut is possible because of the continuing decline in natural gas prices. If it’s approved, the average household using 1,000-kilowatt hours would see a decline of $4 per month. This cut is in addition to a similar price decrease that went into effect this month.
If the Florida Public Service Commission approves, the new rate cut would start in July.
