ESCAMBIA SCHOOL BOARD KICKS CAN DOWN THE ROAD — Steve Taylor

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — There’s still no approved deal with Charter Schools USA for Warrington Middle School. The Escambia County school board discussed the sticking points they’ve had with the proposed charter agreement for several hours before postponing the meeting until Monday at noon. Monday is also the day the district is required to have something in place by the state Department of Education. The board voted unanimously to push back the discussion until Monday at noon. Earlier in the meeting, Escambia County Public Schools attorney Ellen Odom said Charter Schools USA had been willing to negotiate on some big issues for the school district, including giving Warrington-zoned students priority in the school.
