FIRE RESCUE ANIMAL TRAINING — David Wayne
Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) — Escambia Fire and Rescue crews spent some time training for animal rescues yesterday. Ten employees who are part of the Animal Research and Rescue Response team trained for large animal, and animal water rescue operations. The large animal training focused on livestock such as horses and cows that needed to be rescued from mud, ditches, and injuries. Crews then trained for animal water rescues at area boat launches — that training involved rescuing small animals and humans from the water. The training was funded with an ASPCA Disaster Response Grant awarded to the county.
