ESCAMBIA COUNTY TO FOCUS ON GUN VIOLENCE IN BROWNSVILLE — Steve Taylor
The Brownsville neighborhood will be the first area focused on after the recent gun violence roundtable discussions in Escambia County. The plan is to have all aspects of government working together, law enforcement, code enforcement, human services, the school district, and state agencies. They’re calling the plan “Operation Good Neighbor.” The plan could include law enforcement performing extra patrols and drug sweeps, code enforcement making property owners clean up their land, and the state prioritizing helping people in that area. They’re also planning on hosting government events to bring the area together. They’ll be asking community residents for their feedback on what was accomplished at the next discussion in April.
