ESCAMBIA COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD ACCEPTS AGREEMENT WITH CHARTER SCHOOLS USA

ESCAMBIA COUNTY SCHOOL BOARD ACCEPTS AGREEMENT WITH CHARTER SCHOOLS USA — Steve Taylor

Pensacola FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — The Escambia County school board met in an emergency meeting today to work on the deal with Charter Schools USA to take over Warrington Middle School. The deadline to have an agreement was the end of today, and if a deal was not reached by then, it meant the school would have to close. After about two hours of discussion, the board voted four to one to accept the agreement. Now the agreement goes back to Charter Schools USA to accept or reject, and Board Member Kevin Adams suggested that they come up with a Plan B to be discussed in the school board’s May meeting, just in case.
