CENTURY COUNCIL REVIEWS-REJECTS PROPOSED CHARTER — David Wayne
Century, FL (Newsradio 92.3) — It’s back to work on the town charter in Century. The town council has rejected a proposal this week to switch their form of government to a town manager/council form of government — they want to continue with their current strong mayor/strong council form. You may remember the town had a Charter Review Committee working on a proposed charter for three years. The council will be referencing that drafted charter and their current charter as they move forward with drafting a new document during several upcoming workshop meetings. Any proposed charter would still have to be approved by voters in the town before it can be adopted.
