Bed, Bath, and Beyond Files for Chapter 11

BED, BATH, AND BEYOND FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY

Pensacola, FL (Newsradio 92.3) — Pensacola’s Bed Bath and Beyond is still open — at least for now. The big box chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Sunday and says they have begun the process of winding down operations across their remaining 537 stores in the US. They say the stores have been struggling for years. The move comes after a recent failure to pay off 300 million dollars worth of stock. Bed, Bath, and Beyond first opened in 1971 in Springfield New Jersey, and expanded to over 1500 locations by 2017. The chain has announced store closures several times over the past few years, with Pensacola’s location defying the odds and staying open so far.
