ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPER GETS 15 YEARS IN PRISON — Steve Taylor

Pensacola, FL (NewsRadio 92-3) — An Escambia County man accused of attempting to kidnap an 11-year-old girl from a bus stop in 2021 has been sentenced to 15 years in prison. 32-year-old Jared Stanga faced a maximum of 30 years in prison. He was charged with first-degree felony kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor battery. Once released from prison Stanga was ordered to have no contact with anyone under 18 except his young daughter. Back in 2021, the girl was alone at a bus stop on Old Corry Field road when surveillance video showed Stanga running towards the girl with a knife and grabbing her by the neck. The girl managed to fight Stanga off and he ran back to his vehicle — she ran to her home.
